Though a lot of people are afraid of going to the dentist, they don’t do much to take care of oral and dental health as well as hygiene. Most people face dental problems, irrespective of regular brushing of teeth. You must visit the dentist at least every few months to take care of your teeth and gums. Lots of people make mistakes while maintaining teeth health and you should avoid those mistakes. Here we look at 5 Mistakes that you should avoid maintaining healthy teeth and gums.
1) NOT USING A PROPER TOOTHBRUSH.
It is advisable to use a proper toothbrush for better health of teeth and gums. Normally people use a hard or medium brush for effective cleaning, but it can cause maximum damage over the years by wearing off healthy and natural teeth. Always use a soft brush.
2) HARD BRUSHING.
This will damage your gums. Brushing 3-4 times a day is bad for you. Washing and brushing twice a day is quite sufficient for your health if teeth and gums.
3) INCORRECT BRUSHING.
Normally brushing shouldn’t be done horizontally, it should be done vertically. Horizontal brushing may lead to irritation and damage. Always don’t brush side to side. Brush your teeth with an up and down motion and short strokes.
4) BRUSHING TOO MANY TIMES AND QUICKLY.
Don’t brush quickly and frequently. Just two brushes a day are sufficient for better health of teeth and gums.
5) USE OF WHITENING AND ANTI-SENSITIVITY TOOTHPASTE REGULARLY.
Don’t use medicated toothpaste which is just made for teeth color. Such toothpaste makes you vulnerable to cavities, gum disease, and bad breath.
