HealthifyMe introduces CGM, smart diagnostics-connected fitness plan
Table of Contents
Indian health and fitness app HealthifyMe has launched a new offering that combines health tracking and smart diagnostics to deliver personalised fitness and nutrition plans.
HealthifyPro is its latest flagship fitness plan that comes with a biosensor system of continuous glucose monitor (BIOS) and other sensors and body monitors; a connected Smart Scale metabolic panel; and support from in-house coaches and AI assistant, Ria.
Currently available in beta, the fitness plan is set to be launched worldwide “in the coming months,” according to a press release.
WHY IT MATTERS
HealthifyMe claims that over a billion people in the world suffer from metabolic health disorders, which contribute to around 85% of all chronic diseases. The company offers solutions that help people understand how their food and exercise affect their metabolic health, empowering them to make informed decisions.
In its latest HealthifyPro plan, HealthifyMe coaches and Ria create personalised diet plans and smart nudges using health data collected from BIOS and companion sensors and body monitors.
It also uses data collected via Bluetooth from the HealthifyMe’s Smart Scale which calculates a user’s body composition metrics, such as weight, fat percentage, and muscle mass. The blood test-based metabolic panel does over 80 tests off a single prick and renders insights on lipid profile, vitamins deficiency, and liver metabolic health.
“By understanding our predispositions and knowing exactly how our bodies uniquely react to foods and exercise routines, we hope to move from weight-loss linked restrictions to a world of diet flexibility and fitness freedom,” said HealthifyMe co-founder and CEO Tushar Vashisht.
THE LARGER TREND
In July last year, HealthifyMe raised $75 million in a Series C funding round, bringing its total investments to over $100 million to date. Since then, it has been making efforts to introduce its app globally, targeting more areas in India, Southeast Asia, and North America. It has set its sights on opening offices in the San Francisco Bay Area and in Southeast Asia.
The company is even considering filing for an IPO in India in the future as it is close to hitting $100 million in annual recurring revenue in the next eight months, according to a news report.
ON THE RECORD
Dr Ambrish Mithal, chairman of Max Hospitals who has been advising HealthifyMe since its inception, claimed “HealthifyPro is their best foot forward yet”. He added: “Medically speaking, understanding your metabolism is key to unlocking health and fitness results. With newer, easy to use tools and devices that can track our parameters continuously, this is bound to be a success”.
